We are excited to be offering two Puppy's Best Start Courses starting this January at
Dunkirk and Lenton Community Centre, Montpelier Road, Nottingham, NG7 2JW (by QMC) on:
- Wednesdays at 10.30am (from the 8th of January till the 19th of February)
- Thursdays at 6.30pm (from the 9th of January till the 20th of February).
The course is 7 weeks long and is for dogs under 12 months old.
In this course we will introduce your dog to the following behaviours:
· Lie down
· Leave an object
· Drop an object
· Take treats gently & meals nicely
· Wait for an object
· Stay in one place till called
· Loose lead walking
· Recall (come back to the owner when called)
Each week we start the session with an informative presentation and Q&A about vital areas of puppy ownership
to help you give your puppy the very best start in life.
Week 1 – Basic dog training techniques and the role & value of treats in training
Week 2 – Reading your dogs emotions & how to respond.
Week 3 - The do’s and don’ts of socialisation
Week 4 – Expectations for your dog and household & toilet training solutions
Week 5 – Managing and preventing common puppy problems including jumping up and nipping
Week 6 – Exercises & games to build the reliability of commands in real world situations
On week 7 we spend the whole session outside to enable customers to practice training exercises in a real-world scenario with the support and guidance of the trainer.
All customers who complete the course get a certificate and rosette at the final session.
The course also comes with 12month access to our customer information and advice group which is filled with weekly training challenges, training advice and much more.
This course costs £65 for 1 dog or £85 for 2 dogs from the same household. Spaces are very limited.
