  • 3 Oct 2021
  • 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM
  • bridgford park, bridgford road, Nottingham, NG2 5GF

Registration is closed

This event is for individual who either are considering moving to Pawsitive Squad CIC from another organisation or have been owner training and have already started public access & task training and wish to join Pawsitive Squad.

In this assessment we will be assessing whether your dog is suitable to join our assistance dog program and, if they are, whether they are able to join at foundation, bronze, silver, gold (fully trained) level.

We will be assessing your dog in at least a public park, 2 shops, high street  and a café/ restaurant and general obedience, public access and socialisation skills. It's ok if your dog can't do some of these, we are just determining their level of training and if there are any behaviour/handler concerns which we feel make your partnership unsuitable for our program. Your dog will be being assessed alongside assistance dogs who are already training on our assistance dog program.

To be eligible to attend the assessment your dog must not show/have ever shown aggression to dogs or people including children.

Please note we have very high welfare and training standards. If we witness aversive, harsh or abusive behaviour or equipment used with your dog we will automatically not allow direct access.

No extendable leads, choke chains, head collars or any aversive equipment is permitted at assessment. Positive techniques & equipment only.
