Paws of Hope, Paws of Love,
Paws of Life
As a non profit organisation, we are proud to offer a variety of affordable and accessible services. We offer services to 3 main client groups - disabled children & young people, health, education, social and non-profit professionals who support disabled and vulnerable children through their service and Nottingham pet dog owners.
For disabled children & young people
Our assistance dog program is one of the most comprehensive programs available with 3 hours of training provided to assistance dogs in training per month. For an affordable monthly subscription fee we cover all aspects of assistance dog training and assessments throughout the dogs training and working life. Training is available in both face to face and virtual formats. This program is open to 2 to 25 year olds who meet our care, health and support needs based (not diagnosis centred) criteria.
For health, social, non-profit & education professionals
Our specialist team dog (therapy dog) program is open to professionals and organisations who support young people with additional and alternative needs or disabilities such as schools, charities, occupational, speech & physiotherapists, councillors and social workers. The comprehensive program provides all aspects of training and assessment to equip the specialist team dog handler to provide a specialist canine assisted activity program to support their clients.
For local pet dog owners in Nottingham
We offer 4 unique canine assisted activity (CAA) programs. Our communication centred CAA program and our sensory & emotion CAA programs are available via zoom.
Our physical skills CAA and social CAA for neurodiverse girls programs are available in person in Nottingham only. If you don't own a dog their is an opportunity to buddy up with a therapy dog during many of these in person sessions.
