I'm parent/carer of a full time attendant controlled wheelchair user (push their wheelchair).

Navigating the community as a disabled parent/carer while caring for a full time wheelchair user can be tricky to manage practically. An assistance dog can be trained to do tasks which make navigating the community much easier. This could include:

  • picking up dropped items
  • providing routine reminders e.g. remind medications due
  • press lift buttons
  • pass items from parent to wheelchair user and back
  • push door open switches
  • pull open doors
